Inter-School Mime Competition 2024 - 25

L.D.SAMANT MEMORIAL HIGH SCHOOL, PORVORIM WINS MUSHTIFUND HIGH SCHOOL PTA’S LATE SMT. PARVATI RAMNATH VERLEKAR ALL GOA INTERSCHOOL MIME COMPETITION 2024-’25
Urja Rathod, Arunika Sangelkar, Keemaya Kavlekar, Dhanashree Tamboskar, Sameer Bhandari and Aradhya Lingudkar of L.D.Samant Memorial High School-Goa won All Goa Interschool Late Smt. Parvati Ramnath Verlekar Memorial Mime Competition 2024-2025 organized by the PTA of Mushtifund High School, Cujira, Santa-Cruz, Goa held on 22nd February 2025 at Indishila Auditorium of Mushtifund Saunstha Building, Cujira.
The second place was bagged by Dr. K.B.Hedgewar High School, Cujira-Goa team, Arya Venkatesh Naik, Srishti Shivprakash Gauns, Harshita Rama Chari, Mahima Mahesh Naik, Shrija Amish Shenvi and Atharva Dilip Vaze while the third place was bagged by Sanjay Centre For Special Education, Goa, Porvorim team, Rutika Jadhav, Yash Gad, Sunidhi Mehra, Ayan Ali, Aneek Gawas and Khagapati Biswal. Consolation prize was bagged by Balbharati Vidyamandir, Ribandar, Goa team, Tejas Kankonkar, Rudra Kavlekar, Dharesh Kavlekar, Suman Das, Heramb Vaigankar and Yash Shirodkar.
Theme for the competition was ‘VICTORY BEYOND FEAR.’ Shri Rajratna Kaushalya and Shri Mark Fernandes, both experts in the art of Miming, so also eminent personalities from theatre field were the esteemed judges for the competition.
After performing Saraswati Poojan and Natraj Poojan lighting of the ceremonial lamp was done by the dignitaries present. Later the competition was declared open by Shri Sagar Agni, Chairperson of MHSPTA.
Shri Rajendra R. Verlekar, MHSPTA member cum the Sponsor of the event, Mrs. Aparna Chari-Headmistress, Mrs. Chantal Gracias and Mrs. Beena Shankhwalker-Asst. Headmistress of Mushtifund H.S., Chairperson of MHSPTA Shri Sagar Agni, Vice-Chairperson of MHSPTA Mrs. Nandan Sardesai, Secretary of MHSPTA- Mrs. Anisha Salgaonkar, Activity co-ordinator cum theatre art teacher Shri Santosh Shetkar were present on the dais.
One of the judges Shri. Rajratna Kaushalya guided and motivated the audience regarding the Art of Miming by addressing the audience and presenting a mime performance on the theme ‘Save water’.
Trophies, medals and cash prizes were distributed to the Prize Winners at the hands of the dignitaries on the dais. Participation certificates too were distributed to other participating schools. Shri Shetkar introduced the guests, read out the rules of the competition and also declared the names of Prize Winners. Mrs. Anisha Salgaonkar, Secretary of MHSPTA proposed the vote of thanks.
As a token of appreciation memento was presented to the sponsor, judges and activity co-ordinator.Shri Verlekar spoke on the occasion and expressed his gratitude to MHSPTA for providing a platform to students where they could exhibit their skills and talent.
The programme was compered by Miss Somna Tari, Std. IX-Theatre Art student of Mushtifund High School. Programme ended with Pasaaydan recited by Miss. Savali Gaonkar, a student of std.VII. The programme was well attended by the students and teachers of Mushtifund High School, members of PTA committee and also by teachers and parents of the participating schools.
