Genesis Of Mushtifund

At a time when funding for a Marathi medium school was not easy to come by in Portuguese Goa, a group of Hindu philanthropists came together to uphold our traditions, culture and sanskriti. They were inspired by the ideas of Lokmanya Tilak who had started, what could be considered to be the earliest crowdfunding method, with his paisa fund. Mushtifund began literally by collecting a fistful of rice from its earliest patrons and thus set up the school.

The management is very keen to select a dynamic and dedicated team of teachers. The chief objective of the Saunstha is to impart sound, wholesome, and integrated education not only for the intellectual development of the student but also to enable him to play an important role in Man-Making and Nation-Building.

The Higher Secondary school is affiliated with the Goa Board and imparts instruction in the streams of commerce and science. The school functions on the morning shift.

As we embark on a new chapter in our illustrious journey, I am delighted to extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all of you on the launch of our school’s brand-new website.

Celebrating 115 glorious years of preserving Bharatiya Sanskriti in Goa, Mushtifund Saunstha has been a beacon of education and cultural heritage. The launch of this website marks a momentous occasion in our commitment to providing quality education from KG to 12th standard to approximately 3000 bright young minds. In this digital age, our website stands as a testament to our dedication to embrace innovation while upholding the values ingrained by our forefathers.

May this website become a vibrant platform for knowledge-sharing, collaboration, and communication among our students, parents, faculty, and the community at large.May it serve as a gateway to showcase the holistic development and academic excellence our institution strives for.

Message From Principal of Higher Secondary

As the Principal of Mushtifund Higher Secondary School, I am hugely impressed by the commitment of the Management and the staff for providing excellent all-round education for our students with state-of-the-art facilities. Mushtifund Higher Secondary School is a celebrated fruit of the tree, Mushtifund Saunstha. The Saunstha aims at providing, imparting, and shaping young minds from KG to the secondary school level.

As a team working together, we strongly promote academic achievement among our students. Alumni of Mushtifund Higher Secondary School are employed in prestigious institutes like the Faculty at Goa University, IIT Kharagpur, Victoria University Canada, the Astronomical Observatory in Paris, and the New Jersey Institute of Technology USA. Our students are also instrumental in different corporate companies like Deloitte and Pidilite Industries. Our mission is to create professionals like doctors, engineers, lawyers, and entrepreneurs, chartered accountants, GST practitioners, artists, and above all, good and responsible citizens of India who can dedicate their expertise to the development of our nation.

At the outset I would like to congratulate Mushtifund Saunstha on the launch of its website. The Saunstha which was set up more than 100 years ago has been doing stellar work in the field of education in Goa. Recognised by the government as well as the society at large as a premier centre for learning, thousands of students have graduated through it’s portal and moved on to make significant contributions to the state advancement.

My association with Mushtifund Saunstha dates back to 1999, during this period, I have played a variety of roles within the Saunstha, ranging from a middle school teacher to Headmistress of it’s Primary section. I have seen improvement in all aspects of the Saunstha’s institutions. These improvements span across academics, culture, sports and the performing art and technology. The new website plans to capture the historic growth of the Saunstha as well its current activites.
